History
Carpentry is in the DNA of the Clark family. The family's ties to the industry reach back 100 years and started right here in central Iowa.
1920's
Karl B. Clark was a carpenter and assisted in the construction of the Memorial Union on Iowa State University's campus in Ames.
1949
Shortly after the end of World War II, Karl's son, Karl "Red" (pictured above), founded Clark Builders when he began building houses in the Ames area.
1980's
Red's son, Rob, continued the tradition by building homes and becoming a very skilled and sought-after trim carpenter. He has worked on a wide range of custom projects through the years and is truly an expert in the field.
2000's
Rob's son, Josh, joined his building ventures at a young age and picked up on the carpentry and people skills quickly. After high school he earned his Construction Engineering Degree from Iowa State University.
The tradition of excellence at Clark Builders is carried on by Rob and Josh. Together they have 45 combined years of experience as trim carpenters, and have trimmed some of the largest and most unique houses in Ames.
In their lifelong carpentry experience, they have created many relationships with trusted contractors in the home building industry. They utilize these relationships and knowledge to build a quality and exceptional home.
Clark Builder is a full-service home builder, based out of Ames, IA. We specialize in residential new builds, remodels and additions. Our in house team of designers, managers and carpenters are invested in making your home something you love for many years and generations to come. We strive to design beautiful spaces for all of life's special moments.
